At Modernshade, we strive to deliver your order in a timely manner.

Standard orders are processed within the same working days you place your order. It takes about 1-7 business days to deliver your order, excluding weekends and holidays.
We currently ship standard ground delivery to the contiguous United States. Goods are shipped via Fedex.

Return Policy

We want you to love your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we will gladly accept your return within 10 days of purchase. To initiate a return please email support@modernshade.org with your name, order number and item you wish to return. If an order is canceled after it has already been shipped and is in transit, a 4.5% service fee will be deducted from the refund amount. This fee covers payment processing and order handling costs that are non-refundable once the shipment has been dispatched.

Customers are responsible for return shipping and will not be reimbursed. Once an order has been delivered, all costs associated with returning the item will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
All returned items must be in the original packaging, undamaged, unused and in good condition. If the product has signs of damage or use, a 25% fee will be deducted from the refunded amount.
Please remove all original shipping labels from the box and include the original packing list with your return.

For most Tranquil Grove models, the manual is in Box 1 (a few larger versions differ — for example the 12x24 travels in Box 8). Box counts: the 10x10 ships in 4 boxes, the 12x20 in 6. You sure can — it comes down to choosing the right version at purchase! Tranquil Grove base models do not include curtains or netting, while the -MP option versions include both. The standard frame includes the attachment points, and we will happily confirm compatibility for any model you are considering. A quick tip: choosing the MP option at checkout is the simplest way to get the full look!

Your gazebo cedar arrives pre-stained and pre-treated, so there is nothing you need to do before assembly — just enjoy it! To keep it looking its best for years to come, we recommend applying a quality exterior wood sealant once or twice a year (waiting about 6 months before the very first application). Any widely available exterior sealant will do nicely.

Great question — and an important one! Our hardtop gazebos are tested to withstand winds up to 83 mph (Beaufort 12) and snow loads of about 20 lbs per square foot when properly anchored with the included concrete bolts — so please do anchor your gazebo securely. In heavy-snow regions we also recommend clearing accumulation from the roof. For fabric-top models, we suggest taking them down during strong wind or heavy snow to keep them in great shape.

Great planning question! Most of our customers complete assembly in about 3-6 hours with 2-4 people, depending on the model and site prep. The step-by-step manual and all hardware are included — and if any question comes up along the way, our team is right here to walk you through it.

Happy to help you plan! One thing to know: the listed dimensions measure the outermost roof edges, including the overhang — the posts sit slightly inside them. Exact post sizes and spacing vary by model and are shown on each product page, and we can send a dimension diagram for footing planning.
