Concealed gutters with leaf-proof guards keep water moving

Rain In. Water Out.

Concealed gutters built into the frame channel rainwater through the columns and away from your living space. Leaf-proof gutter guards help keep debris from blocking the drainage path, so even when summer showers arrive, your patio stays ready for the gathering to continue.

Tested for winds up to 83 MPH

Built To Stay Put.

The Aurora is engineered and tested to withstand winds up to 83 MPH, with expansion bolts securing the structure to hard surfaces. Because a pergola should feel like part of your patio—not something you worry about when the weather turns.

Built-in outlets and USB ports keep your essentials connected

Power, Right Where Life Happens.

Integrated standard and USB outlets put power within easy reach, whether you're charging a phone, powering outdoor lighting, or keeping your devices ready while you relax. No extension cords running across the patio—just convenient power built into the space.

Adjustable louvers from 0°–85° for sun, shade, and airflow

Your Sky. Your Setting.

The adjustable louvers rotate from 0° to 85°, giving you precise control over sunlight, shade, and airflow throughout the day. Two crank holders make adjustment effortless from either side, while mounting points on every post let you keep the crank exactly where it's most convenient.

Fit a Full Sectional with Room to Spare

Space That Stays Wide Open

A 12×16 footprint covers 190 square feet — enough to lay out a full sectional sofa set with room to walk around it, not squeeze between pieces. Sink into the lounge, stretch out, and the shade still feels wide open instead of packed.

Beautifully, actually! The Aurora louvers close to form a rain-shedding roof, and integrated concealed gutters channel water discreetly down through the posts — no dripping edges. One tip: keep the frame square during installation so the louvers seat perfectly. Rainy days stay cozy underneath!

Great question! The Aurora is crafted from galvanized steel throughout — both the frame and the louvers are galvanized steel with an elegant powder-coated finish. It carries a snow load of 50 kg/m² (about 10 lbs/sq ft). The Aurora performs very well in everyday conditions equivalent to a roughly 50-83 mph wind — securely anchored, of course. A wonderful blend of strength and style for your outdoor space!

It depends on the version — and both are lovely choices! The -SMP versions include both curtains and mosquito netting, while the base versions keep things open (side screens for the 10x12 can be added separately). Every Aurora includes charging ports and integrated gutters. Share the model you are considering and we will confirm exactly what comes with it!

We love that you are dreaming big! At this time our products come in the standard sizes listed on our website — we do not offer custom sizes or post extensions, as modifications can affect the structure and warranty. That said, we have a wide range of sizes, and we would be happy to help you find the closest fit for your space!

We completely understand — permits can be tricky! While we do not provide stamped engineering plans, we can share the product dimensions and assembly manual for your application. For Florida Building Code / high-velocity hurricane zone requirements, your local permitting office and the FBC database (floridabuilding.org) are the best resources — If it helps, we can also forward your request to our team for anything additional.

Thank you for your interest in our products! Orders are processed the same day we receive them, and once the warehouse takes over (typically 1-2 business days), delivery usually takes 1-7 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Rest assured we will do everything we can to get your order to you as quickly as possible — you will receive a confirmation email with tracking the moment it ships.

Thanks for asking! Some of our products have installation videos — if one is available for your model, we will gladly send it over. If not, our support team will guide you step by step; just share photos or questions at any point and we will walk you through it. You might also enjoy the general assembly videos on our YouTube channel, ModernShadeOutdoor.

Great news — your purchase is protected! Products bought directly from modernshade.org come with an automatic 2-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship, with replacement parts provided free of charge (no registration needed). For purchases from other retailers, the standard one-year warranty in the manual applies — and you can extend it by one more year by registering on our website. We have got you covered!
