Standard Orders

At Modernshade, we strive to deliver your order in a timely manner.

Standard orders are processed within the same working days you place your order. It takes about 1-7 business days to deliver your order, excluding weekends and holidays.
We currently ship standard ground delivery to the contiguous United States. Goods are shipped via Fedex.

Return Policy

We want you to love your purchase, but if you are not completely satisfied, we will gladly accept your return within 10 days of purchase. To initiate a return please email support@modernshade.org with your name, order number and item you wish to return. If an order is canceled after it has already been shipped and is in transit, a 4.5% service fee will be deducted from the refund amount. This fee covers payment processing and order handling costs that are non-refundable once the shipment has been dispatched.

Customers are responsible for return shipping and will not be reimbursed. Once an order has been delivered, all costs associated with returning the item will be the sole responsibility of the customer.
All returned items must be in the original packaging, undamaged, unused and in good condition. If the product has signs of damage or use, a 25% fee will be deducted from the refunded amount.
Please remove all original shipping labels from the box and include the original packing list with your return.

Matte Black (Classic)

Cedar Wood-Tone Finish (New)

Our newest option wraps the same galvanized steel structure in a warm cedar wood-tone finish, so the gazebo blends into natural settings — wood decks, gardens, and cabins — instead of standing out as metal. You get the welcoming look of wood with the rust- and rot-resistance of steel, and none of the staining or sealing a real wood gazebo demands. Every feature carries over: the vented galvanized roof, four solar lights, the central hanging hook, mosquito-net rods, and expansion-screw anchoring are all unchanged.

Great question — let us make it easy! For the Horizon collection: the 8x8 includes privacy curtains only (no netting); the 12x24 includes both curtains and netting; and the 10x10 includes neither. Most other sizes include mosquito netting, with privacy curtains available to order separately. Tell us your model number and we will confirm exactly what comes with yours!

Let us get those lights glowing! These solar lights are fully automatic — there is no on/off switch: they charge in sunlight during the day and light up automatically after dark. First checks: make sure the solar panel receives direct sunshine for a full day, and test at night in darkness (a bright environment can keep them from switching on). If a light still will not cooperate, tell us your order number and we will arrange a replacement. We will make sure your evenings shine!

Enjoy peace of mind with the Horizon! Like all our hardtops, it is tested to withstand winds up to 83 mph (Beaufort 12) with a snow load of about 20 lbs/sq ft — when properly anchored with the included bolts. A 3/8-inch masonry bit is all you need for installation, and clearing heavy snow keeps it in top shape.

The Horizon roof is designed to shed rainwater naturally off the edges — no gutters, keeping the silhouette clean. It does not include built-in power outlets. Great eye! Our wood-looking parts are actually heavy-duty steel with a heat-transfer wood-grain finish — a special powder-coating process that bonds the wood grain to the metal at high temperature. You get the warm, natural look of wood with the strength and weather-resistance of steel, designed to stay beautiful for many years.

A ceiling fan is a wonderful addition! If your model has a center hook or solid support beam, you can mount a lightweight outdoor-rated fan — under 20 lbs with 42-52 inch blades works beautifully. We do not sell fans ourselves, but any outdoor-rated plug-in model in that range will serve you well. Tell us your model number and we will confirm the best mounting spot!
